The DO-IT Scholars program includes two consecutive Summer Study sessions on the University of Washington (UW) campus. Scholars live in a dormitory, participate in labs and lectures with UW faculty, work on projects together, and explore campus and Seattle-area resources.

Previous Summer Study sessions have included events at UW's Center for Neurotechnology, Microsoft, Reel Girls, the Seattle Aquarium, and the Pacific Science Center. Previous class activities include designing video games, creating videos, extracting strawberry DNA, dissecting sheep hearts, engaging in mock interviews with local professionals, and meeting with scholarship experts.

For a more complete picture, see below for an example of the 2024 in-person session for Phase 1 Scholars schedule. Note that for several days before the in-person Summer Study we have online sessions to get students acquainted with each other and our staff, as well as to receive information from some presenters who are out of the area over Zoom.
