People with disabilities are often left out of challenging academic programs and engaging, competitive careers. It is much less likely that they will receive encouragement to apply themselves, gain access to interesting and industrious classes or support programs, or be provided with tools and accommodations to feel successful pursuing higher education.

DO-IT hosts programs that support people with disabilities--both locally in Washington State and nationally--through challenging academic programs and into engaging, meaningful careers.

Need for Support

Only 27% of adults with disabilities are employed, compared to 77% of adults without disabilities. These numbers can be greatly raised through educational support, advocacy training, and transitional skills.* We support this historically marginalized and underrepresented group through a variety of programs and initiatives. Your funding could make the difference in the success of the next generation of professionals making societal change, finding meaningful careers, and impacting the future of our world.

How Can I Help?

Every dollar given goes directly to a program offering successful and proven interventions for students with disabilities to succeed. Your support is needed to sponsor participants in our Scholars and NNL summer programs; offer work-based learning experiences and internships; support participant travel and personal care costs; provide adequate accommodations such as ASL interpreters; and fund a wide variety of assistive technology.
